Create your own sustainable plant supports: sweet pea frames
Thursday, 19th May 2022 – 09:30 – 13:00
Learn how to make stylish structures to support your plants in your garden or vegetable patch. The courses will be run by Sandra Hurst Chico. Her website can be found here.
Sandra has been working with and developing her skills in willow work for the past 10 years. She is a fantastic teacher and an enthusiastic gardener, and combines the two to create beautiful plant structures and supports.
Using sustainable materials such as hazel and willow you will come away with your own structure that you will learn how to make on the course, as well as inspiration for creating your own structures in the future. These courses are very much ‘hands on’ as you will make your own supports with Sandra’s guidance. The course price includes the cost of materials.
If you are growing sweet peas or runner beans in your garden, then you will need a structure for them to clamber up and support their growth. Adding a cottage garden feel to your garden or creating drama and height in your border, these natural garden teepees look fabulous when covered with tumbling plants. Sandra will help you make these wonderful plant climbing frames using the sustainable materials of willow and hazel.
