A guide to growing your own vegetables – Part 1

Welcome to the wonderful world of growing vegetables!

We’ve had to spread this course over 2 sessions as there is a lot to cover. The vegetable patch at Hamsey is an integral part of the garden supplying fruit and vegetables throughout the year. With so many varieties of vegetables, this course is split into two modules. You can choose which module best suits your needs, or for a thorough understanding, book both! The course content is listed below:

Module one

This course will cover seed sowing, germination and thinning and look at the individual crop needs for Root vegetables (carrots, beetroot, celeriac, swede, parsnips) Alliums (onions, shallots, garlic, leeks and spring onions) Salad leaves and Greenhouse crops (tomatoes, aubergines, peppers and cucumber).
