Welcome to the wonderful world of growing vegetables!
We’ve had to spread this course over 2 sessions as there is a lot to cover. The vegetable patch at Hamsey is an integral part of the garden supplying fruit and vegetables throughout the year. With so many varieties of vegetables, this course is split into two modules. You can choose which module best suits your needs, or for a thorough understanding, book both! The course content is listed below:
Looking at crop rotation, green manures, companion planting, beneficial insects and biological control. This module will focus on the individual crop needs for potatoes, brassicas (kale, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage) curcurbits (courgette, squash and pumpkins), legumes (dwarf French beans, broad beans, peas, mange tout, runner beans).
